At His Majesty's Pleasure™ is a
collection of works developed
around our commission to design
Civil Unrest, a multi-disciplinary
theatrical event created by Spike
Laurie, Old Vic New Voices and
IdeasTap. House of Jonn and Tom
Greenall designed a combined
dining environment and
performance space for the event's
staging in a cavernous tunnel
under the rail tracks of London
Bridge. Working at scales from the
architecture of the site to the tiny
details of food presentation, we
created an immersive experience
encompassing set design, catering,
installation, lighting, tableware and
iconography.
Briefed to create a “dystopian near
future in which His Majesty's Prison
Service has been turned entirely
over to the private sector. Tesco,
inevitably, leads the market in
commercialised incarceration.
The project was exhibited at The
Hospital Club and presented in a
talk hosted by Design Exchange
magazine.
