LE BEAUVALLON
Hotel Le Beauvallon is an
unparalleled Belle Epoque icon on
the French Riviera and a significant
cultural destination since its
opening in 1913. Under new
ownership, Le Beauvallon sought
consultation on approaches to its
renovation and evolving
architectural identity. With designs
by Ron Arad and Keiichi Tahara
planned to complement the recent
relocation of Toyo Ito’s 2002
Serpentine Pavilion, the hotel will
receive international recognition.
House of Jonn was invited with
Tom Greenall to produce an
architectural appraisal of the
existing hotel and to visit the
estate to carry out first-hand
analysis and documentation.
The resulting report (commissioned
by Jane Withers), explores how the
existing palace hotel can be
refurbished to embody its
contemporary ambitions whilst
respecting its Belle Époque
heritage. It provides precedent and
inspiration for ongoing
development and outlines our own
ideas for its future.
